Our next online project, Adventurous, Ian Hallard’s debut play, starts streaming on the 16th March. Filmed in lockdown, Adventurous tells the touching and comic story of two single souls with an unstable connection. From glitchy Zoom introductions, to their socially distanced first date in an actual restaurant, we follow the twists and turns of Ros and Richard’s relationship as they negotiate technology, treachery… and tortoises. Adventurous reunites Hallard with Olivier Award-winner Sara Crowe following their many double-acts in Tonight at 8.30, and even features some unexpected cameos – keep your eyes peeled for those!
Watch our short interview with Adventurous director Khadifa Wong at the link above. Khadifa talks to us about the power of making theatre with digital technology and the importance of nurturing the theatrical core at the centre of the work!
To book a ticket for Adventurous, streaming 16 -28 March online at Stream.Theatre, then follow this link. Adventurous stars Ian Hallard, Sara Crowe and Kathering Jakeways. It is directed by Khadifa Wong. Jessie McKenzie designs and Matt Eaton sound designs.
We also recently opened applications for our Mentoring Programme. The scheme, delivered in partnership with Theatre Royal Haymarket’s Masterclass programme, will offer 3 months of support to early-career artists. Mentees will receive advice, introductions, coaching and support from experienced mentors and will be able to select from the following disciplines: Direction, Set and Costume Design, Movement Direction, Lighting Design, Sound Design, Stage Management, Production and Costume Supervision. We encourage all those who are looking for a helping hand before taking the next step in their career to apply!
