by Ruby Rae Spiegel
Directed by Hannah Hauer-King
Set in the girls’ locker room of a Florida high school, Dry Land is a play about abortion, sexuality, bodies, swimming and an unlikely friendship put to the most extreme of tests. This coming of age story provides an insight into the turbulent and often painful experience of being a teenager and deals with the pressures of youth with an acute sensibility and laconic humour.
Don’t miss the European premiere of Kilroy and Susan Blackburn award nominee Ruby Rae Spiegel’s first piece. This follows its hit run and 5 star success at the Here Arts Centre in New York, in which it was described as “tender, caustic, funny and harrowing, often all at the same time” (New York Times, Ben Brantley).
There will be a post-show Q&As held for audience members attending the performance on Thursday 19th November.
